Sabatier Architecture is a Lafayette, Louisiana based architecture firm specializing in residential design. Our office is currently involved in a large number of projects throughout the state of Louisiana and the South. Through our collaborative approach to design, we provide services that our clients value.
Your home may well be the most complex, interesting and expensive project you will ever undertake. As a firm specializing in residential architecture, we are very aware of its importance and the immense emotional energy expended while planning it. We take this opportunity very seriously.
The most enjoyable part of our work is creating a thought-out, tailored space for your daily life. You hire us to think three-dimensionally in order to envision the best possible solution for your needs, to define your requirements and to create documents that address them. Each project we design is a valuable endeavor that strives to compliment the vision of each individual client.
We hope to have the opportunity to assist you in turning your dream home into a reality.
Bennett began his career over 30 years ago after graduating from University of Louisiana Lafayette with a bachelor degree in Architecture. After obtaining his architecture license, he worked for a prestigious luxury residential architecture firm in Dallas. Bennett moved back to Lafayette to open his own practice where he quickly became an influential designer and approved architect of homes in multiple Traditional Neighborhood Developments throughout Louisiana. Additionally, he has since designed houses out of state, developed an extensive portfolio of custom residential architecture and donated his time to design houses for Habitat for Humanity.
Kevin, a native of Lafayette, graduated from University of Louisiana Lafayette with a degree in Architecture. He gained his first experience in residential design at a local firm. From there he developed his portfolio working on a variety of projects including educational, commercial and government work. He brings 15 years of commercial design knowledge to his almost 20 year career and has been with Sabatier Architecture since 2021.
After earning a Liberal Arts degree with a concentration in Art History from Louisiana State University, Camille returned to school at University of Louisiana Lafayette to obtain a degree in Interior Design. While doing so, she interned at Sabatier Architecture as a student. Post-graduation she worked in Boston and Denver at commercial and multi-family firms. She has since returned to Louisiana to rejoin Sabatier Architecture and lead the interiors department adding her experience and design vision to our growing portfolio.
The general process of designing a home or addition can be broken down into phases, each of which focuses on a different aspect of the project. Though these phases sometimes overlap, depending upon the nature of the project, an understanding of each is important in order to grasp the full scope of the architectural design process.
In most cases, our first meeting will be simply to become acquainted with one another and to establish whether to pursue your project together. There is no pressure to commit to our firm at this point. Bring any information you have gathered: site map, pictures, sketches, etc.
To make the designing process easier for both the architect and client, the best thing you can do is research. Create your own accounts on Pinterest and/or Houzz to organize your thoughts and figure out what you like and want. Make separate boards for different rooms in your house. When you post a picture, please write what you like about that image. That way, we will know exactly what your needs are. Follow our accounts as examples below:
